One of the most important aspects of HCS's work is our commitment to encourage young people to come and listen to our music as well as to take part in music-making. We do this by asking our artists to present workshops or masterclasses which are mainly aimed at our schools but they are open, for a small charge, to anyone who wishes to take part or simply to come and listen.
Workshops
The venue for the workshops is normally The Courtyard but they occasionally take place at one of the schools in the area.
These workshops are arranged for us, direct with the artists or their agents, by The Music Pool, which is the community music charity for Herefordshire and its borders. Founded in 1988, as Hereford Arts in Action Ltd., the organisation took on the operating name THE MUSIC POOL in 1998.
