The Berkley Salon Ensemble is an established off-shoot of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

The ensemble brings together a basic line-up of ten versatile professional musicians. In its relatively brief existence the BSE has made quite an impact on the light music scene.

Performances at the Aldeburgh and Stratford Festivals have been well received as have a number of engagements in the CBSO calendar. In 2002, the ensemble performed in the presence of H.M. The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh during the Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Vaughan Williams English Folk Song Suite
Holst Fantasia on the Dargasson
Elgar Chanson de Matin
Elgar Salut d'amore
A selection of British Dance Band Signature Tunes (including Billy Cotton,
Joe Loss, Henry Hall, Jack Hilton and others)
Melodies by Ivor Novello, Noel Coward, Lionel Monkton, Arthur Sullivan, Lionel Bart, Haydn Wood and Albert Kettelebey
Solos are - The Acrobat (trombone), The Lark's Festival (piccolo) and The Fiddle Polka (violin, believe it or not)
